Original TARDIS FanART - Birthday Present for my best Whovan Friend!!
We're all Stories in the end, Just make it a good one aye?" - Eleventh Doctor
Well today I'm compiling a whole heap of pictures that I took well I was planing, preparing and painting my latest Canvas Painting, a Watercolour Doctor Who inspired painting for a Friend.
Inspiration:
Up First: - Preping my Canvas:
Pretty much anything you don't want to get on your Canvas got onto my canvas.
To do this I used masking tape, not ideal but considering I had to do this with what I already had it worked pretty well.
I then painted the whole canvas in a White thick acrylic paint, just to tidy up the edges and get rid of any substance that wouldn't let me paint over it.
I do this with all my paintings on canvas that I've done so far, What I do is paint the back Black and normally after that white to clean it up and make it lighter however this time I painted the it black,a little white and then Black all over the back to tidy it up, since I was using a dark background to begin with I wanted it to be solid.
Second - The almost soul killing Background.
The top half is what I wanted the whole painting to look like at this point.
I used mainly black to do blend it out.
Third - The Peace of Stars.
Fourth - Tick Tock Goes the Clock.
is ONE coat of acrylic white.
Inbetweener - The Quote
Fifth - Having the Right Time.
This is one of my muck ups.
I misjudged the spaces for the Numbers, and I fought maybe I could leave it but then I decided that I did' like it so I had to paint over it
Sixth - The TARDIS Finally hehe.
Quick tip, when working with watercolour, Watercolour pencil is a great sketching tool.
I've filled in the little notice on the front of the TARDIS, the door panels, the Plaque, and the keyhole. After these I went around the edge to clean up the line.
